A song I named myself/us after, which took about 5 years to write.
I started writing describing the room I was in in Amsterdam, and thought about how my mum would knock on my bedroom door back home and say 'Are you alright in there?' I later included references to experiencing an earthquake in England, my friend who had written a gem who was 'sitting on a goldmine', wanting more attention from a loved one, feeling lucky to have said loved one while referencing the men trapped in a mine 'I didn't need to mine for my diamond.'
lyrics
It's quiet around me, it's quiet inside me, 'Are you alright in there?' she says, 'Are you alright in there darling?' It's quiet around me, it's quiet without me. What am I waiting for? I'm sitting on a goldmine like you, I feel the quake from underneath, I'm still awake, I can't sleep, I dream of you. Trade a late night out, for a quiet night in. Sitting on a goldmine. It's quiet, quiet, QUIET CHOIR choir, choir. Are you alright in there? I didn't need to mine for my diamond, for my diamond, I'd die. Are you alright?
